Brisbane News Features Anna & Gareth’s Wedding

The Brisbane News has featured Anna & Gareth as their main story in the Wedding Section! The article can be found on page 8 of the July 7-13, 2010 Issue 791.

The article reads:

‘A FEELING FOR SNOW’

Timing is everything.  After Gareth Russell, 28, organised a midwinter break at Mt. Buller, Victoria, with his girlfriend, Anna Thomas, 33, all he had to do was find the perfect place to go on bended knee. He dreamed of proposing on top of the highest mountain peak, and admits it would have been “the perfect place”. But with terrible weather and Anna’s careful nature , her immediate response was, “Are you crazy? I’m not going up there!”  Later in the evening, after a meal at a local restaurant, and a little bit of apres-ski conviviality, he found the opportune moment to pop the question by the fireplace.  “While I used to think that nothing could compare to schussing  and carving down a fresh mountain of snow, being married to the love of my life is one thing that trumps it”, Gareth says. The Lutwyche couple held their wedding at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Nundah and celebrated afterward at Fix Restaurant and Wine Bar at the Port Office Hotel, city. The honeymoon was in northern California . “We love skiing together, and we love the cold,” Anna says. “I grew up in Canberra, where you have to learn to love it, or move to Queensland.” She did both.

I will post some imagery of Anna & Gareth’s wedding soon!
